Abstract
A resistance chair with wheels assists users with performing correct abdominal crunches by guiding the user's effort. The resistance chair includes a seat connected to a hinged back with back support that extends to support the user's back and assist in the crunch recovery following the crunch extension.
Claims5
A resistance chair comprising:
- a stationary seat having a front edge and a back edge;
- a first arm having a first end and a second end, the first end rotatably engaging the back edge of the seat;
- a second arm having a first end and a second end, the second end hingably engaging the second end of the first arm;
- at least one back roller secured to the first arm and rollably supporting the back of a user sitting on the stationary seat;
- a rolling axle secured to the first end of the second arm to allow the first and second arms to rotate and hinge away from the seat into a fully extended position in which the user is in an extended abdominal crunch position;
- and
- one or more resistance bands secured between the seat and the rolling axle to urge the first and second arms to a start position and assist a user performing an abdominal crunch to return to an upright abdominal crunch position from the full extended abdominal crunch position.
