Method and system for a transmitter loft cancellation scheme that maintains IQ balance

A method for processing signals, the method comprising:

• adjusting, in a transmitter, a current supplied to a fully differential mixer for an I channel and a current supplied to a fully differential mixer for a Q channel, thereby reducing local oscillator feed through without introducing a difference in DC common mode level between said I channel and said Q channel;
• adjusting said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said I channel and said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said Q channel by one or both of a first common amount and a second common amount, wherein said second common amount is less than said first common amount;
• increasing said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said I channel and said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said Q channel by said first common amount;
• increasing said current supplied to a first differential input of said fully differential mixer for said Q channel by said second common amount and decreasing said current compensation to a second differential input of said fully differential mixer for said Q channel by said second common amount;
• and
• independently adjusting said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said I channel and said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said Q channel.

A machine-readable storage having stored thereon, a computer program having at least one code section for processing signals, the at least one code section being executable by a machine for causing the machine to perform steps comprising:

• adjusting, in a transmitter, a current supplied to a fully differential mixer for an I channel and a current supplied to a fully differential mixer for a Q channel, thereby reducing local oscillator feed through without introducing a difference in DC common mode level between said I channel and said Q channel;
• adjusting said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said I channel and said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said Q channel by one or both of a first common amount and a second common amount, wherein said second common amount is less than said first common amount;
• increasing said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said I channel and said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said Q channel by said first common amount;
• increasing said current supplied to a first differential input of said fully differential mixer for said I channel by said second common amount and decreasing said current supplied to a second differential input of said fully differential mixer for said I channel by said second common amount;
• and
• independently adjusting said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said I channel and said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said Q channel.

A machine-readable storage having stored thereon, a computer program having at least one code section for processing signals, the at least one code section being executable by a machine for causing the machine to perform steps comprising:

• adjusting, in a transmitter, a current supplied to a fully differential mixer for an I channel and a current supplied to a fully differential mixer for a Q channel, thereby reducing local oscillator feed through without introducing a difference in DC common mode level between said I channel and said Q channel;
• adjusting said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said I channel and said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said Q channel by one or both of a first common amount and a second common amount, wherein said second common amount is less than said first common amount;
• increasing said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said I channel and said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said Q channel by said first common amount;
• increasing said current supplied to a first differential input of said fully differential mixer for said Q channel by said second common amount and decreasing said current compensation to a second differential input of said fully differential mixer for said Q channel by said second common amount;
• and
• independently adjusting said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said I channel and said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said Q channel.

A system for processing signals, the system comprising:

• current sources that enable adjustment in a transmitter of current supplied to a fully differential mixer for an I channel and a current supplied to a fully differential mixer for a Q channel, thereby reducing local oscillator feed through without introducing a difference in DC common mode level between said I channel and said Q channel, wherein:
• said current sources enable adjustment of current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said I channel and said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said Q channel by at least one of the following amounts:
• a first common amount and a second common amount, wherein said second common amount is less than said first common amount;
• said current sources enable increasing said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said I channel and said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said Q channel by said first common amount;
• said current sources enable increasing said current supplied to a first differential input of said fully differential mixer for said I channel by said second common amount and decreasing said current supplied to a second differential input of said fully differential mixer for said I channel by said second common amount;
• and
• said current sources enable independently adjusting said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said I channel and said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said Q channel.

A system for processing signals, the system comprising:

• current sources that enable adjustment in a transmitter of current supplied to a fully differential mixer for an I channel and a current supplied to a fully differential mixer for a Q channel, thereby reducing local oscillator feed through without introducing a difference in DC common mode level between said I channel and said Q channel, wherein:
• said current sources enable adjustment of current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said I channel and said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said Q channel by at least one of the following amounts:
• a first common amount and a second common amount, wherein said second common amount is less than said first common amount;
• said current sources enable increasing said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said I channel and said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said Q channel by said first common amount;
• said current sources enable increasing said current supplied to a first differential input of said fully differential mixer for said Q channel by said second common amount and decreasing said current compensation to a second differential input of said fully differential mixer for said Q channel by said second common amount;
• and
• said current sources enable independently adjusting said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said I channel and said current supplied to said fully differential mixer for said Q channel.
