Abstract
The present invention provides methods for facilitating metabolic control in a subject by decreasing the level of Il-1β in the GCF. The present invention further provides methods for decreasing the level of circulating TNF in a subject. Also provided are uses of anti-inflammatory agents in these methods.

A method for facilitating metabolic control in a subject, comprising decreasing the level of IL-1β in GCF of the subject by administering to the subject an anti-inflammatory ketorolac oral rinse, wherein the subject has type 2 diabetes and periodontitis.
A method of use of an anti-inflammatory agent in a method for facilitating metabolic control in a subject by decreasing the level of IL-1β in GCF of the subject by administering to the subject an anti-inflammatory ketorolac oral rinse, wherein the subject has type 2 diabetes and periodontitis.
