Massaging bar soap

A soap bar comprising at least two different portions A and B, wherein the portions have a difference in solubility of at least about 1.0%, and wherein the differences in solubilities between the at least two different portions causes a ridged structure to be formed upon use of the bar, wherein

• I) Portion A is the lesser soluble portion and comprises:
• (a) about 75-90 weight % of a soap;
• (b) about 1-5 weight % of one or more of a C 12-C20 straight or branched chain fatty acids;
• (c) about 0.5-1.2 weight % of at least one hardening agent chosen from inorganic electrolytes, propylene glycol, mixtures of sodium chloride with polyethylene glycol, and mixtures of sodium chloride with at least one wax with a melting point of 40-60° C., wherein a total amount of all of these materials in Portion A are within the about 0.5-1.2 weight % range;
• (d) water;
• and
• II) Portion B is more soluble than Portion A in water and comprises:
• (a) 60-75 weight % of a soap;
• (b) a solubility enhancing component selected from the group consisting of
• (i) 6-10 weight % of a humectant;
• (ii) 3-10 weight % of an alcohol;
• (iii) 0.5-10% of a saccharide humectant;
• (iv) 0.5-25 weight % of a non-soap synthetic surfactant;
• and
• (v) mixtures thereof;
• provided that the solubility enhancing components must be present in a minimum amount of at least about 5 weight %;
• (c) about 0.5-1.7 weight % of at least one hardening agent chosen from inorganic electrolytes, propylene glycol, a mixture of sodium chloride with polyethylene glycol, a mixture of sodium chloride and a wax with a melting point of 40-60° C., wherein a total amount of all of these materials in Portion B are within the about 0.5-1.7 weight % range;
• (d) about 0.1-5 weight % of one or more of a C12-C20 straight or branched chain fatty acid;
• (e) water, and wherein the portions have a difference in solubility of between 3-7% and height difference between the ridges of at least two portions is about 0.1 to about 0.6 mm.
