Abstract
The present invention is an electrophotographic photoconductor having a photosensitive layer on a conductive substrate. The photosensitive layer contains N-arylphthalimides additives.
Claims6
An electrophotographic photoconductor having a photosensitive layer on a conductive substrate, said photosensitive layer comprising a layer containing a charge transport material and an additive of the formula:
- wherein Z is hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, aryl, aryloxy, carboalkoxy, acyl, halogen, perfluoroalkyl, cyano, alkylsulfonyl or nitro, the additive present at a concentration effective at stabilizing the layer to charge transport material light absorption.
An electrophotographic element comprising:
- an electrically conductive support;
- a charge-generation layer sensitive to visible or infrared radiation;
- and
- a charge-transport layer containing a charge-transport material, and an additive having the formula:
- wherein Z is hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, aryl, aryloxy, carboalkoxy, acyl, halogen, perfluoroalkyl, cyano, alkylsulfonyl or nitro, the additive present at a concentration effective at stabilizing the charge transport layer to charge transport material light absorption.
