Abstract
A process for reducing the Bromine Index of a hydrocarbon feedstock, the process comprising the step of contacting the hydrocarbon feedstock with a catalyst at conversion conditions, wherein the catalyst includes at least one molecular sieve and at least one clay, and wherein said catalyst is sufficient to reduce more than 50% of the Bromine Index of a hydrocarbon feedstock.
Claims4
A process for reducing the Bromine Index of an aromatic hydrocarbon feedstock having a BI of between 600 and 1600, comprising the step of contacting said hydrocarbon feedstock with a catalyst at conversion conditions to produce a product having a BI of less than 150, said catalyst comprising a molecular sieve structure type of MWW and at least one clay in a single reactor, wherein the volume ratio of said molecular sieve to clay is from about 45:55 to about 55:45,” said catalyst having a longer cycle length than the molecular sieve or the clay alone, said cycle length being more than 800 days at a temperature of about 200° C.
