Abstract
Access to an audiovisual product is controlled, through the use of scrambled video streams. Cells 420 of audiovisual data A,B,C1,D are scrambled into at least first and second video streams 1901, 1902. A video stream switch instruction 2011, 2021 automatically switches between at least first and second video streams 1901, 1902 during reproduction, so that cells are reproduced from an appropriate video stream 1901, 1902 at appropriate times. Multi-angle video objects 2020 hold the cells 420 in a selected video stream 1902, and hold nil or erroneous data C2 in other streams 1901.
Claims73
A method for use in creating an audiovisual product with scrambled video streams for playback upon a playback device, comprising the steps of:
- receiving audiovisual data intended for playback according to a content sequence;
- dividing the audiovisual data into a plurality of content cells;
- providing a plurality of video streams, each stream having at least one content cell, each stream providing an unsatisfactory reproduction of the content sequence;
- and
- creating a playback sequence for playing back the content cells in the video streams, the playback sequence including at least one video stream switch instruction to automatically switch between a first video stream and a second video stream to unscramble the video streams and satisfactorily reproduce the cells in order according to the content sequence.
A method for use in reproducing an audiovisual product with scrambled video streams for playback upon a playback device, comprising the steps of:
- receiving an audiovisual product having a plurality of cells of audiovisual data which together represent a content sequence, the content cells provided by at least a first and a second video streams each stream having at least one content cell, neither stream providing a satisfactory reproduction of the content sequence;
- and
- performing one or more video stream switch instructions to automatically switch between at least the first video stream and the second video stream during reproduction of the cells, thereby unscrambling the video streams and reproducing satisfactory audiovisual data according to the content sequence.
A non-transitory machine readable medium with scrambled video streams recorded on a recording medium, comprising:
- audiovisual data recorded on the recording medium intended for playback according to a content sequence, the audiovisual data being divided amongst a plurality of content cells;
- a plurality of video streams, each stream having at least one content cell, each stream providing an unsatisfactory reproduction of the content sequence;
- and
- a playback sequence structured and arranged as executable code for a playback device, which when executed by the playback device will provide playback of the content cells, the playback sequence including instructions to automatically switch between a first video stream and at least one second video stream to satisfactorily unscramble the video streams and reproduce the cells according to the content sequence.
A non-transitory storage medium on which is stored a computer program for creating an audiovisual product with scrambled video streams, the computer program comprising instructions which when executed by a computer perform the steps of:
- receiving audiovisual data intended for playback according to a content sequence;
- dividing the audiovisual data into a plurality of content cells;
- providing a plurality of video streams, each stream having at least one content cell, each stream providing an unsatisfactory reproduction of the content sequence;
- and
- creating a playback sequence for playing back the content cells in the video streams, the playback sequence including at least one video stream switch instruction to automatically switch between a first video stream and a second video stream to unscramble the video streams and satisfactorily reproduce the cells in order according to the content sequence.
