Abstract
A method of preparing a catalyst comprising contacting a support with a trivalent titanium compound and a chromium-containing compound. A catalyst composition comprising a support, chromium, and titanium, wherein the titanium is derived from TiCl3, Ti2(SO4)3, Ti(OAc)3, Ti(+3) oxylate, Ti(NO3)3, Ti(+3) lactate or combinations thereof.
Claims20
A method of preparing a catalyst comprising:
- contacting a support with a chromium-containing compound and an aqueous solution comprising a trivalent titanium compound to form a catalyst precursor;
- drying the catalyst precursor in an inert atmosphere to form a dried catalyst precursor;
- and
- calcining the dried catalyst precursor in an oxidizing atmosphere to produce a catalyst.
