Multiple arc chamber assemblies for a fault interrupter and load break switch

A transformer switch, comprising:

• a first arc chamber assembly comprising
• a first member,
• a second member,
• a first channel extending between the first member and the second member,
• first and second stationary contacts coupled to the second member and disposed on opposite sides of the first channel, each of the first and second stationary contacts being configured to be electrically coupled to a first circuit of a transformer, and
• a first rotor assembly disposed at least partially between the first member and the second member, substantially co-axial with the first channel, the first rotor assembly comprising a first movable contact having a first end and a second end, wherein the first circuit is closed when the first end of the first movable contact engages the first stationary contact and the second end of the first movable contact engages the second stationary contact;
• a second arc chamber assembly comprising
• a third member,
• a fourth member,
• a second channel extending between the third member and the fourth member,
• third and fourth stationary contacts coupled to the fourth member and disposed on opposite sides of the second channel, each of the third and fourth stationary contacts being configured to be electrically coupled to a second circuit of the transformer, the second channel being substantially co-axial with the first channel,
• a second rotor assembly disposed at least partially between the third member and the fourth member, substantially co-axial with the second channel, the second rotor assembly comprising a second movable contact having a first end and a second end, wherein the second circuit is closed when the first end of the second movable contact engages the third stationary contact and the second end of the second movable contact engages the fourth stationary contact;
• a handle coupled to the first and second rotor assemblies via a trip assembly, actuation of the handle causing actuation of the trip assembly and rotation of the first and second rotor assemblies about the axis of the first channel,
• wherein the rotation of the rotor assemblies about the axis of the first channel causes the first end of the first movable contact to move relative to the first stationary contact, the second end of the first movable contact to move relative to the second stationary contact, the first end of the second movable contact to move relative to the third stationary contact, and the second end of the second movable contact to move relative to the fourth stationary contact;
• the trip assembly comprising a magnet;
• and
• a Curie metal element coupled to at least one of the first and second stationary contacts, the Curie metal element releasing a magnetic coupling between the magnet and the Curie metal element upon a fault condition in the transformer, the Curie metal element releasing the magnetic coupling upon attaining a temperature, which causes the Curie metal element to lose magnetic properties,
• wherein the trip assembly opens the first circuit and the second circuit upon the release of the magnetic coupling.
