Abstract
An advertising apparatus including a body portion adapted to be one or both of connected to or disposed on a support structure accessible for advertising purposes and, an interchangeable and/or replaceable advertising device, the advertising device being adapted to be one or both of connected to or disposed on the body portion.
Claims18
An advertising apparatus comprising:
- a body portion adapted to be connected in a tamper-resistant manner to a discrete pre-existing support structure accessible for advertising purposes, wherein the body portion is adapted to be retro-fit to the discrete pre-existing support structure and wherein the support structure is a cupholder;
- and,
- an advertising device which is one or more of removable, interchangeable and replaceable;
- wherein the body portion has at least one latch portion for coupling with a support structure, and the latch portion has at least one flange adapted for securing the body portion to the support structure;
- wherein the flange of the latch portion is adapted to engage a portion of the support structure and a connection structure;
- wherein the connection structure is a disk with at least one clip member, the flange being adapted to engage the disk and the clip member being adapted to engage a portion of the support structure to provide a tamper-resistant connection to the support structure;
- and,
- wherein the advertising device is adapted to be one or both of removably connected to or disposed on the body portion, and, wherein the advertising device has an insertion portion, and the body portion has a receiving portion for receiving and retaining the insertion portion of the advertising device to secure the advertising device to the body portion.

A system for advertising, the system comprising:
- a support structure accessible to advertising to a consumer, the support structure being a cupholder;
- and,
- an advertising apparatus, the apparatus comprising:
- a body portion adapted to be retrofit as one or both of connected to or disposed on the support structure in a tamper-resistant manner;
- and
- an advertising device, the advertising device being adapted to be externally coupled with the body portion;
- wherein the advertising device is adapted to be one or both of removably connected to or disposed on the body portion, and, wherein the advertising device has an insertion portion, and the body portion has a receiving portion for receiving and retaining the insertion portion of the advertising device to secure the advertising device to the body portions
- wherein the body portion has at least one latch portion for coupling with the support structure, and the latch portion has at least one flange adapted for securing the body portion to the support structure;
- wherein the flange of the latch portion is adapted to engage a portion of the support structure and a connection structure;
- wherein the connection structure is a disk with at least one clip member, the flange being adapted to engage the disk and the clip member being adapted to engage a portion of the support structure to provide a tamper-resistant connection to the support structure.

A method for advertising comprising:
- generating advertising material on an advertising device;
- attaching the advertising device to a body portion of an advertising apparatus, the advertising device being adapted to be externally coupled with the body portion in a tamper-resistant manner;
- wherein the advertising device is adapted to be one or both of removably connected to or disposed on the body portion, and, wherein the advertising device has an insertion portion, and the body portion has a receiving portion for receiving and retaining the insertion portion of the advertising device to secure the advertising device to the body portion;
- and,
- connecting the body portion of the advertising apparatus by retrofit to a support structure;
- the support structure being a pre-existing cupholder
- wherein the body portion has at least one latch portion for coupling with the support structure, and the latch portion has at least one flange adapted for securing the body portion to the support structure;
- wherein the flange of the latch portion is adapted to engage a portion of the support structure and a connection structure;
- wherein the connection structure is a disk with at least one clip member, the flange being adapted to engage the disk and the clip member being adapted to engage a portion of the support structure to provide a tamper-resistant connection to the support structure.
