Abstract
Methods, articles of manufacture, and systems for providing access to a grid computing environment. In one environment, requests include resource specific criteria used to identify a particular grid resource to perform the request. In another embodiment, a request includes a queue criterion used to identify one of a plurality of queues on which the request is placed.
Claims6
A computerized environment, comprising:
- a request manager configured to:
- receive, from a requesting entity, a request comprising (i) a specification of a function to be performed and (ii) a resource specific criterion identifying one or more specific grid computing resources to perform the function;
- based on the resource specific criterion, identify a grid computing resource as the specific resource to perform the function, the identified grid computing resource being one of a plurality of resources of a computing grid;
- and
- route the request, by use of one or more computer processors, to the identified grid computing resource.
