Abstract
A suspension trailing arm suspends a vehicle chassis from a beam type axle. The trailing arm includes a chassis mounting feature, an axle mounting feature, and an arm portion intermediate the chassis mounting feature and the axle mounting feature. The arm portion has a generally X-section profile with four limbs.
Claims19
A suspension trailing arm for suspending a vehicle chassis from a beam type axle, the suspension trailing arm comprising:
- a chassis mounting feature;
- an axle mounting feature;
- and
- an arm portion intermediate the chassis mounting feature and the axle mounting feature, wherein the arm portion has a generally X-section profile with four limbs, and two of the four limbs provide an upwardly facing trough when the suspension trailing arm is installed, wherein the upwardly facing trough extends generally longitudinally, and the two of the four limbs providing the upwardly facing trough are both upwardly inclined with respect to a plane extending horizontally in a direction transverse to a longitudinal direction of the upwardly facing trough.
