Abstract
The invention concerns amidine derivatives of general formula (I) exhibiting an inhibitory activity of calpains and/or a trapping activity of reactive forms of oxygen.

A compound of formula (i) or its salt
- in which:
- R1, R2, R4, R5 and R6 represent, independently, a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, the OH group, an alkyl, alkoxy, cyano, nitro, amino, alkylamino radical or carboxylic acid;
- R3 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl radical or a —COR10 group;
- R10 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, alkoxy, aryl radical, or a heterocyclic radical;
- W represents sulfur atom;
- R7 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical;
- R8 represents a hydrogen atom, a haloalkyl or alkenyl radical, a cycloalkyl radical, a linear or branched alkyl radical, optionally substituted with carboxylic acid, amino, alcohol, guanidine, amidine, thiol, thioether, thioester, alkoxy, heterocyclic or carboxamide;
- R9 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl, aryl, arylalkyl, bisarylalkyl radical, a heterocyclic radical, a heterocyclic alkyl radical or a —COR10 group;
