Method for producing permanent integral connections of oxide-dispersed (ODS) metallic materials or components of oxide-dispersed (ODS) metallic materials by welding

A method for producing by welding a permanent integral connection between two oxide-dispersed metallic materials, the method comprising:

• overlapping the two oxide-dispersed metallic materials one over the other to form an overlapping region including a joining region at the overlapping region;
• heating the two oxide-dispersed metallic materials at the joining region below the melting temperatures of the two oxide-dispersed metallic materials and welding the two oxide-dispersed metallic materials at the joining region to form, at least partially, a diffusion bond;
• heating the diffusion bond to a temperature below the melting temperature of the two oxide-dispersed metallic materials and mechanically recompacting the diffusion bond;
• and
• positioning a welding filler between the two oxide-dispersed metallic materials in the joining region and thereafter welding with the welding filler,
• wherein the welding filler comprises at least one noble metal foil.
