Abstract
A system for an engine, comprising of a cylinder located in the engine, a first port injector for injecting a first fuel into said cylinder, and a second injector outside said cylinder for injecting a second fuel into said cylinder.
Claims20
A system for an engine, comprising:
- a cylinder located in the engine;
- a first port injector for injecting a first fuel into said cylinder;
- a second injector outside said cylinder for injecting a second fuel into said cylinder;
- a charge motion control valve coupled to said engine;
- and
- a controller configured to position said valve in a first position when said second injector is active and to position said valve in a second position when said second injector is inactive.

A system for an engine, comprising:
- a cylinder located in the engine;
- a first port injector for injecting a first fuel into said cylinder;
- a second port injector for injecting a second fuel into said cylinder;
- a valve coupled to an intake of said engine, a position of said valve depending on whether said second injector delivers fuel to said cylinder;
- and
- a controller for operating at least said second injector to inject said second fuel at least partially during an open intake valve of said cylinder.

A system for an engine, comprising:
- a cylinder located in the engine;
- a first port injector for injecting a first fuel into said cylinder;
- a second port injector for injecting a second fuel into said cylinder;
- a valve coupled to an intake port of said cylinder;
- and
- a controller to adjust said valve to reduce airflow around one of said injectors when said first injector is not injecting fuel.
