Abstract
A system for generating pseudorandom codes using a register which contains an identification of the code tree leg of the desired code and a counter which outputs a successive binary sequence. The output from the counter is bit-by-bit ANDed with the output of the register, and those outputs are XORed together to output a single bit. As the counter is sequenced, each count results in a different bit that is output from the XOR gate, resulting in the desired code.
Claims8
A method for generating a pseudorandom code, the method comprising:
- generating, using a counter, a series of 2M M-bit wide binary codes starting from a lowest bit to the highest bit;
- reversing each of the generated codes in order from a least significant bit to a most significant bit;
- selecting an M-bit wide binary index code corresponding to an index number of the pseudorandom code among a set of pseudorandom codes;
- and,
- performing a logical operation between each of the generated 2M M-bit wide codes and the selected index code to generate a 2M-bit wide pseudorandom code.

A pseudorandom code generator comprising:
- a counter configured to generate a series of 2M M-bit wide binary codes starting from a lowest bit to a highest bit;
- an index code selector for selecting an M-bit wide binary index code corresponding to an index number of a pseudorandom code among a set of pseudorandom codes;
- a logical operator for performing a logical operation between each code generated by the counter and the index code selected by the index code selector in order to generate a 2M M-bit wide pseudorandom code;
- and
- a code reverser for reversing the order of the bit sequence generated by the counter from a least significant bit to a most significant bit.
