Abstract

The use and screening of modulators of apoptosis is disclosed. The modulators may be, for example, modulator of NF-κB activity. The modulators may be used, for example, in the treatment of NF-κB-mediated diseases, conditions, and injuries.

A method of protecting a mammal from ionizing radiation sufficient to cause gastrointestinal syndrome or hematopoietic syndrome comprising administering to a mammal in need thereof a composition comprising recombinant flagellin.
