Abstract
A method and apparatus provide for implementing query-response interactions on a publish-subscribe network. An advertisement relating to a data set and a query representing a logical expression are received. The advertisement is mapped to a corresponding subscription. The query is mapped to a corresponding notification. The subscription and the notification are used for implementing of the advertisement and the query in the network.

A method for implementing query-response interactions on a publish-subscribe network, comprising:
- receiving a data advertisement, wherein the advertisement is made by an advertiser;
- transforming the data advertisement to a subscription using ontology transformations;
- receiving a query, wherein the query is made by a requester;
- transforming the query to a notification using ontology transformations;
- performing content-based routing (CBR) based on the subscription to push the notification to the advertiser;
- and
- returning responsive data to the requester based on the notification.
