Multiplanar EMI shielding gasket and method of making

An electrically conductive gasket material comprising:

• a foam core;
• a quantity of a blended mixture of a plurality of electrically conductive fibers and bi-component polyester nonconductive fibers wherein said plurality of electrically conductive fibers are present in an amount of about 50 wt % or greater in said quantity of said blended mixture, said plurality of electrically conductive fibers and nonconductive fibers extending in a nonrandom orientation completely through said foam core;
• and
• at least one electrically conductive web layer disposed on one side of said foam core wherein said electrically conductive web layer has a plurality of electrically conductive fibers and a plurality of nonconductive fibers wherein said electrically conductive fibers are present in an amount of about 50 wt % or greater of said electrically conductive web layer and wherein said plurality of electrically conductive fibers of said web layer are electrically coupled to said plurality of electrically conductive fibers of said blended mixture extending through said foam core.
