Abstract
The present invention discloses the identification and isolation of novel MHC class II epitopes derived from the cancer antigen, NY ESO-1. The novel MHC class II epitopes from NY-EsO-1 are recognized by CD4+ T lymphocytes in an HLA class II restricted manner, in particular HLA-DR or HLA-DP restricted. The products of the gene are promising candidates for immunotherapeutic strategies for the prevention, treatment and diagnosis of patients with cancer.
Claims12
An isolated cancer epitope of NY-ESO-1, wherein the cancer epitope consists of a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO:
- 21, 40, and 53-64, wherein the cancer epitope is immunologically recognized by HLA-DP-restricted T lymphocytes.
A target antigen-cancer epitope carrier conjugate comprising a target antigen or target cancer epitope of the target antigen linked to a cancer epitope carrier consisting of a cancer epitope selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO:
- 21, SEQ ID NO:

An immunogen comprising an HLA-DP molecule and a cancer epitope of NY-ESO-1 consisting of an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO:
- 21, 40, 53-64, and 79, wherein the cancer epitope is immunologically recognized by HLA-DP restricted-T lymphocytes.
