## Abstract

An image sensing apparatus includes an image capture unit, a communication unit and a switch. The image capture unit captures a digital image using an image sensing device. The communication unit transmits a resume signal to an external computer, the resume signal being used by the external computer to release a suspended state. The switch enables the image sensing apparatus to capture a digital image using the image capture unit and enables the image sensing apparatus to transmit the resume signal to the external computer using the communication unit. Before the resume signal is transmitted to the external computer, the image sensing apparatus determines whether the external computer is in the suspended state. If it is determined that the external computer is in the suspended state, the image sensing apparatus enables the communication unit to transmit the resume signal to the external computer so as to release the suspended state.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An image sensing apparatus comprising: an image capture unit configured to capture a digital image using an image sensing device; a communication unit configured to transmit a resume signal to an external computer, the resume signal used by the external computer to release a suspended state; and a switch configured to enable the image sensing apparatus to capture a digital image using the image capture unit and enable the image sensing apparatus to transmit the resume signal to the external computer the communication unit, wherein before the resume signal is transmitted to the external computer, the image sensing apparatus determines whether the external computer is in the suspended state, and if it is determined that the external computer is in the suspended state, the image sensing apparatus enables the communication unit to transmit the resume signal to the external computer so as to release the suspended state.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The image sensing apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising:
a storing unit adapted to store the digital image captured by the image capture unit to an external memory.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The image sensing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the switch has a first contact and a second contact, the second contact being able to be turned on after the first contact is turned on, and
wherein if the first contact is turned on by the switch, the image sensing apparatus enables the communication unit to transmit the resume signal to the external computer so as to release the suspended state.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The image sensing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the switch has a first contact and a second contact, the second contact being able to be turned on after the first contact is turned on, and
