## CPC

- H01Q 13/08: Radiating ends of two-conductor microwave transmission lines, e.g. of coaxial lines, of microstrip lines
- H01Q 1/243: {with built-in antennas}
- H01Q 13/10: Resonant slot antennas
- H01Q: ANTENNAS, i.e. RADIO AERIALS (radiators or antennas for microwave heating H05B6/72)

## Abstract

An electronic device (10) includes a substrate (11), a metal film (12), a radio frequency module (14), and a signal transmission portion (13). The substrate includes two opposite surfaces. The metal film is disposed on one surface of the substrate and defines a clearance (16) therein. The radio frequency module is disposed on the clearance. The signal transmission portion is electronically connected to the radio frequency module and the metal film, for transmitting electromagnetic signals between the radio frequency module and the metal film.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An electronic device having antenna function, comprising:
a substrate comprising two opposite surfaces;
a metal film disposed on one surface of the substrate for radiating electromagnetic signals, and defining a clearance therein;
a radio frequency module disposed on the clearance, for generating electromagnetic signals; and
a signal transmission portion, electronically connected to the radio frequency module and the metal film, for transmitting the electromagnetic signals between the radio frequency module and the metal film.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The electronic device as recited in claim 1, wherein the clearance is an insulative area on the metal film.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The electronic device as recited in claim 1, further comprising a first inductor electronically connecting the radio frequency module to a first circuit.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The electronic device as recited in claim 3, wherein the first circuit is used for supplying power or processing electromagnetic signals.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The electronic device as recited in claim 1, further comprising a second inductor electronically connecting the radio frequency module to the metal film.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The electronic device as recited in claim 1, further comprising one or more second function circuits disposed on the metal film.

### Claim 7

A device having antenna function, comprising:
a substrate;
a metal film disposed on a surface of said substrate and occupying a major area of said surface, said metal film being grounded and being used for radiating electromagnetic signals; and
a radio frequency module electrically connectable with said metal film for generating electromagnetic signals.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The device as recited in claim 7, wherein said radio frequency module is resided inside said major area for said metal film and separated from said metal film by a clearance.

### Claim 9 (depends on 7)

The device as recited in claim 7, wherein said radio frequency module is electrically connectable with said metal film through a signal transmission portion.
