## Abstract

The present invention provides an antiwrinkle agent and skin cosmetic composition having excellent alleviating effects on wrinkles appearing due to aging, and especially at exposed locations of skin, and a high degree of safety. The present invention relates to an antiwrinkle agent and skin cosmetic composition comprising a sclareol derivative represented by the following structural formula (1).

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for reducing the appearance of wrinkles on a body comprising applying an effective amount of a composition including a sclareol derivative represented by formula (1):
wherein, R1 and R2 independently represent a hydrogen atom, or a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated acyl group having 2 to 12 carbon atoms,
R3 represents an ethyl group in the case R1 and R2 both represent hydrogen atoms, and
R3 represents an ethenyl group in the case of at least one of R1 and R2 represents the linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated acyl group,
to skin of the body.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method for reducing the appearance of wrinkles according to claim 1, wherein R1 and R2 both represent hydrogen atoms, and R3 represents an ethyl group.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The method for reducing the appearance of wrinkles according to claim 2, wherein the sclareol derivative is obtained by hydrogenating an extract of Salvia sclarea, Lamiaceae.
