## Abstract

A magnetic sensor comprising: a multilayer film which has a pinned magnetic layer, the magnetization thereof being pinned in one direction, and a free magnetic layer formed on the pinned magnetic layer with a nonmagnetic material layer provided therebetween, in which current is allowed to flow in a direction perpendicular to the surfaces of the layers forming the multilayer film, wherein the pinned magnetic layer has a NiaFeb alloy layer (where a and b each indicate atomic percent, and 0<a≦25 and a+b=100 are satisfied).

## Claims

### Claim 1

A magnetic sensor comprising: a multilayer film which has a pinned magnetic layer, the magnetization thereof being pinned in one direction, and a free magnetic layer formed on the pinned magnetic layer with a nonmagnetic material layer provided therebetween, in which current is allowed to flow in a direction perpendicular to the surfaces of the layers forming the multilayer film,
wherein the pinned magnetic layer has a NiaFeb alloy layer (where a and b each indicate atomic percent, and 0<a≦25 and a+b=100 are satisfied).

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The magnetic sensor according to claim 1, wherein the pinned magnetic layer has a NiaFeb alloy layer (where a and b each indicate atomic percent, and 4≦a≦23 and a+b=100 are satisfied).

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The magnetic sensor according to claim 2, wherein the pinned magnetic layer has a NiaFeb alloy layer (where a and b each indicate atomic percent, and 15≦a≦20 and a+b=100 are satisfied).

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The magnetic sensor according to claim 1, wherein the pinned magnetic layer has a three-layered structure composed of two CoFe layers provided on the top and the bottom of the NiaFeb alloy layer.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)
