The cosmetic composition imparts much moistness and superior conditioning effects such as body or elasticity to hair, and to skin, said composition does not impart tackiness and blocked feeling, whilst imparts superior feeling of use such as moistness. ## Claims ### Claim 1 A method of moisturizing the skin of a subject in need thereof comprising applying to the skin of said subject a cosmetic composition comprising at least one kind of substance selected from an Nα,NG-di-acylarginine or a salt thereof. ### Claim 2 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein the Nα,NG-di-acylarginine is a compound represented by formula (I): wherein R1 and R2 each independently represents a straight or branched-chain alkyl group having 1 to 21 carbon atoms or a straight or branched-chain alkenyl group having 2 to 21 carbon atoms or a salt thereof. ### Claim 3 (depends on 2) The method of claim 2, wherein R1 and R2 each independently represents a straight or branched-chain alkyl group having 11 to 15 carbon atoms or a straight or branched-chain alkenyl group having 11 to 15 carbon atoms. ### Claim 4 A method of moisturizing the skin of a subject in need thereof comprising applying to the skin of said subject a cosmetic composition comprising: (A) at least one kind of substance selected from an Nα,NG-di-acylarginine or a salt thereof, and (B) at least one kind of substance selected from the group consisting of the following (a) and (b): (a) an Nα-mono-acylarginine or a salt thereof, (b) powder subjected to a surface treatment with at least one kind of substance selected from the group consisting of an Nα-mono-acylarginine or a salt thereof. ### Claim 5 (depends on 4) The method of claim 4, wherein the Nα,NG-di-acylarginine is a compound represented by formula (I): wherein R1 and R2 each independently represents a straight or branched-chain alkyl group having 1 to 21 carbon atoms or a straight or branched-chain alkenyl group having 2 to 21 carbon atoms or a salt thereof. ### Claim 6 A method for washing hair, comprising applying to the hair of a subject in need thereof a composition comprising at least one kind of substance selected from an Nα,NG-di-acylarginine or a salt thereof, rinsing the hair, and drying the hair. ### Claim 7 (depends on 6) The method of claim 6, wherein the Nα,NG-di-acylarginine is a compound represented by formula (I): wherein R1 and R2 each independently represents a straight or branched-chain alkyl group having 1 to 21 carbon atoms or a straight or branched-chain alkenyl group having 2 to 21 carbon atoms or a salt thereof. ### Claim 8 (depends on 7) The method of claim 7, wherein R1 and R2 each independently represents a straight or branched-chain alkyl group having 11 to 15 carbon atoms or a straight or branched-chain alkenyl group having 11 to 15 carbon atoms. ### Claim 9 A method for washing hair, comprising applying to the hair of a subject in need thereof a composition, rinsing the hair, and drying the hair wherein said composition comprises: (A) at least one kind of substance selected from an Nα,NG-di-acylarginine or a salt thereof, and (B) at least one kind of substance selected from the group consisting of the following (a) and (b): (a) an Nα-mono-acylarginine or a salt thereof, (b) powder subjected to a surface treatment with at least one kind of substance selected from the group consisting of an Nα-mono-acylarginine or a salt thereof. ### Claim 10 (depends on 9) The method of claim 9, wherein the Nα,NG-di-acylarginine is a compound represented by formula (I): wherein R1 and R2 each independently represents a straight or branched-chain alkyl group having 1 to 21 carbon atoms or a straight or branched-chain alkenyl group having 2 to 21 carbon atoms or a salt thereof.
