Abstract
This invention provides novel compounds selected from the group consisting of a 1,5-substituted pyrimidine derivative or analog and substituted furano-pyrimidone analogs. The compounds are useful to treat or prevent diseases such as cancer.
Claims20
A compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of the compound, wherein the compound has the structure:
- wherein:
- (i) R1 is a group:
- wherein Xd is H;
- and, Xe is Cl, I or Br;
- or:
- (ii) R1 is a group:
- wherein Xd and Xe are independently the same or different and are selected from Cl, Br, and I;
- and wherein each R6 is independently the same or different from the other and is selected from the group consisting of —H, and —OH
- R7 is —H, a monophosphate or the structure:
- with the proviso that when R7 is H, then Xd is not H and Xe is not Br;
- and wherein the compound has a D-ribofuranosyl moiety.
