An adhesive composition suitable for gluing wood comprising a thermosetting phenol-formaldehyde resin as a wood adhesive and 1-[-2,6-Cl2-4-CF3-phenyl]-3-CN-4-[SO—CF3]-5-NH2-pyrazole (fipronil) in an insecticidal amount.
