Abstract
A glued three piece folding basket carrier which has two partitions for dividing the carrier into six cells with each partition being constructed of a different material than used to construct the outside basket carrier. Each partition is glued to a handle panel and a divider flap on the end of the basket carrier and a to a side wall to form a bottle cell with walls that are perpendicular to the divider between the two sides of the carrier and which are also formed as part of the partition.
Claims23
A basket carrier for carrying containers, comprising:
- a basket structure comprising:
- at least one bottom panel;
- a first side panel adjacent to the at least one bottom panel;
- a second side panel adjacent to the at least one bottom panel;
- at least one first end panel at a first end of the basket structure;
- at least one second end panel at a second end of the basket structure;
- a plurality of divider flaps foldably connected to the end panels;
- and
- a handle;
- and
- a first and a second partition, each partition dividing a side of the carrier into at least three cells, the first partition comprising:
- a first partition panel and a second partition panel;
- a divider panel located between the first and second partition panels, the divider panel having two divider panel extensions cut from the partition panels, each divider panel extension being glued to an adjacent one of the divider flaps;
- and
- at least one slot or aperture disposed to align the first partition in the basket structure.

In combination, a basket structure blank and-at least one partition blank, the basket structure blank comprising:
- a first side panel;
- a first outside handle panel and a first inside handle panel foldably connected to the first side panel;
- a second side panel;
- a second outside handle panel and a second inside handle panel foldably connected to the second side panel;
- a first and a second end panel foldably connected to opposite sides of the first side panel;
- a third and a fourth end panel foldably connected to opposite sides of the second side panel;
- a plurality of divider flaps foldably connected to a respective one of the end panels;
- and
- at least one bottom panel, wherein the at least one partition blank comprises:
- a first partition panel and a second partition panel, each partition dividing a side of the carrier into at least three cells, the first partition comprising:
- a divider panel located between the first and second partition panels, the divider panel having a first divider panel extension cut into the first partition panel, and a second divider panel extension cut into the second partition panel, each of the divider panel extensions being glued to a respective divider flap;
- and
- at least one alignment slot or aperture.

- a basket structure comprising:
- at least one bottom panel;
- a first side panel adjacent to the at least one bottom panel;
- a second side panel adjacent to the at least one bottom panel;
- means for closing a first end of the basket structure;
- means for closing a second end of the basket structure;
- a plurality of divider flaps foldably connected to the end panels;

- a handle;

- a first and a second partition, each partition dividing a side of the carrier into at least three cells, each partition comprising:
- a first partition panel and a second partition panel;

- a divider panel located between the first and second partition panels, the divider panel having two divider panel extensions glued to a respective divider flap of the plurality of divider flaps, wherein each partition has means for aligning the partitions in the basket structure.

- a first partition panel and a second partition panel disposed transversely to the handle;

- a divider panel generally aligned with the handle, the divider panel having an alignment slot or aperture that at least partially overlays and is adjacent to and aligned with the alignment slot or aperture in the handle.
