Integrated circuit for a digital camera system

A hand-held digital camera device which comprises

• programmable processing circuitry that includes a four-way parallel VLIW vector processor;
• an image sensor interface that is connected to the programmable processing circuitry and is configured to receive signals from an image sensor and to pass data representing the signals to the programmable processing circuitry;
• and
• a printhead interface that is connected to the programmable processing circuitry and is configured to receive data from the programmable processing circuitry and to generate control signals to be received by a printhead of a printing mechanism,
• wherein the programmable processing circuitry, the image sensor interface and the printhead interface all form part of CMOS integrated circuitry on a common wafer.
