Abstract
A system for the detection of compounds, including a target biological organism or component from a sample, using one or more reactant that will bind to the biological organism or compound forming a Raman active product, concentrating the Raman active product, and detecting the Raman active product using Raman light scattering.
Claims5
A system for detecting a biological organism or component in a sample comprising:
- a) one or more reactants that will bind to the biological organism or component, wherein at least one of the one or more reactants comprises one or more enzymes that convert one or more reagents to one or more Raman active products;
- and
- b) means to separate bound reactants from unbound reactants;
- and
- c) a detection sub-system which utilizes Raman light scattering to detect the one or more Raman active products, wherein the Raman light scattering is not surface enhanced.
