Abstract
A method for producing fibers from molten waste includes melting waste in a melter into high-temperature molten fluid, discharging the high-temperature molten fluid from the melter, and fiberizing the high-temperature molten fluid to form solid fibers. The solid fibers possess excellent fire-resistant properties and thus can be used as fire-resistant materials.

- melting waste in a melter into high-temperature molten fluid;
- discharging the high-temperature molten fluid from the melter to a fiberizing device;
- and
- fiberizing the high-temperature molten fluid with the fiberizing device to form solid fibers,
- with the fiberizing device comprising:
- a disc made of heat-resistant material and comprising a circumferential wall that defines a compartment and that includes a plurality of through-holes;
- a plurality of vanes mounted in the compartment;
