Thermal transfer recordable release sheet and adhesive tape

An adhesive tape comprising a substrate, an adhesive layer provided on a first surface of said substrate, and a release agent layer of a release agent composition provided on a second surface of said substrate opposite said first surface, wherein said release agent composition comprises, as main components, a thermoplastic elastomer formed from at least one material selected from the group consisting of ethylene-propylene copolymers, ethylene-propylene terpolymers and ethylene-butene rubbers, as well as a polydimethylsiloxane, and a quantity of said polydimethylsiloxane within the release agent layer is within a range from 3 to 18 mass %, and

• an organic silicon content of a surface layer of the release agent layer at a depth of 5 nm, as measured by ESCA (Electron Spectroscopy for Chemical Analysis), is within a range from 5.8 to 25.4 atomic %.
