Inhibitors of papilloma virus

A compound of formula (1) or its enantiomers or diastereoisomers thereof:

• wherein R1 is H, (C1-6) alkyl, halo, (C1-6)haloalkyl, (C1-6)alkoxy, (C1-6)alkylthio, amino, (C1-6)alkylamino, di((C1-6) alkyl) amino, (C3-7)cycloalkyl, or phenyl;
• X1 is CR2;
• one or both free positions on the phenyl ring may be substituted with R2 and each R2 is independently:
• H, (C1-6)alkyl, halo, (C1-6)haloalkyl, (C1-6)alkoxy, (C1-6)alkylthio, amino, (C1-6)alkylamino or di((C1-6)allyl)amino;
• A is piperidinyl optionally substituted with one or more of
• (C1-6)alkyl, halo, (C1-6)haloalkyl, (C1-6)alkoxy, (C1-6)alkylthio, amino, (C1-6)alkylamino, or di((C1-6)alkyl)amino, aryl, O-aryl, S-aryl, NH-aryl or (C1-6)alkyl-aryl;
• R4 is phenyl optionally substituted with one or more of
• (C1-6)alkyl, halo, (C1-6)haloalkyl, (C1-6)alkylthio, amino, (C1-6)alkylamino, di((C1-6)alkyl)amino, aryl, (C1-6)alkyl-aryl, or (C1-6)alkoxy, wherein said (C1-6)alkoxy is optionally substituted with aryl;
• Z is O or S;
• Y is CH2 or NH;
• B is:
• wherein R5 is (C3-7)cycloalkyl, halo, (C1-6)haloalkyl, (C1-6)alkoxy, (C1-6)alkylthio, amino, (C1-6)alkylamino, di((C1-6)alkyl)amino, hydroxyl or sulfhydryl;
• X2is CR7;
• R6 is halo, (C1-6)haloalkyl, (C1-6)alkoxy, (C1-6)alkylthio, amino, (C1-6)alkylamino, di((C1-6)alkyl)amino, hydroxyl or sulfhydryl;
• and
• R7 is H, (C1-6)alkyl, halo, (C1-6)haloalkyl, (C1-6)alkoxy, (C1-6)alkylthio, amino, (C1-6)alkylamino, di((C1-6)alkyl)amino, hydroxyl or sulfhydryl;
• and
• RC is COOH, CONHR9, SO2NHR9, CONHSO2R9 or CONHSO2NHR9,
• wherein R9 is H, (C1-6)alkyl, (C3-6)cycloalkyl or phenyl;
• provided that when Y is NH, R6 cannot be hydroxyl or sulfhydryl;
• or a pharmaceutically-acceptable salt or ester thereof.
