Abstract
The invention provides isolated polypeptide and nucleic acid sequences derived from Streptococcus pneumoniae that are useful in diagnosis and therapy of pathological conditions; antibodies against the polypeptides; and methods for the production of the polypeptides. The invention also provides methods for the detection, prevention and treatment of pathological conditions resulting from bacterial infection.
Claims16
A method of making a Streptococcus pneumoniae polypeptide, comprising the step of culturing a host cell that includes a recombinant expression vector, wherein the recombinant expression vector includes a nucleic acid sequence encoding a polypeptide having the amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:5179.
A method of making a S. pneumoniae polypeptide, comprising the step of culturing a host cell that includes a recombinant expression vector, wherein the recombinant expression vector includes a nucleic acid sequence encoding a polypeptide having at least 95% identity to the an amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:5179, wherein the polypeptide elicits an immune response in a mammal.
