Abstract
The present invention provides a reactor system having: (1) a plurality of reactors connected in fluid flow communication and having at least one pair of reactors separated by an interstage position; (2) a line for supplying a reactant feed stream separately to an inlet of more than one of the plurality of reactors; and (3) a diverter in fluid communication with the interstage position and capable of directing a first portion of a product stream exiting one reactor in said pair of reactors to a first location and a second portion of the product flow stream to an inlet of another reactor in said pair of reactors.
Claims18
A reactor system comprising:
- a plurality of reactors connected in fluid flow communication and having at least one pair of reactors separated by an interstage position;
- a feed line for supplying a reactant feed stream separately to an inlet of more than one of the plurality of reactors;
- and
- a diverter in fluid communication with the interstate position and capable of directing a first portion of a product stream exiting one reactor in said pair of reactors to a first location and a second portion of the product stream to an inlet of another reactor in said pair of reactors;
- wherein a first reactor of the plurality of reactors comprises a first annular catalyst chamber and a second reactor of the plurality of reactors comprises second annular catalyst chamber and the first annular catalyst chamber is concentrically disposed within the second annular catalyst chamber.
A system for converting a feed stream comprising:
- a reactor vessel defining an inner space;
- a first annular catalyst chamber in the inner space for containing a first catalyst material;
- a second annular catalyst chamber in the inner space for containing a second catalyst material;
- and
- a feed line in fluid communication with a first inlet and a second inlet, the first inlet for directing a first portion of the feed stream to the first annular catalyst chamber, and the second inlet for directing a second portion of the feed stream past the first annular catalyst chamber and to the second annular catalyst chamber.
A reactor system for converting a feed stream to a product stream comprising:
- a reactor defining an inner space;
- a first annular catalyst chamber in the inner space for guiding a flow of a first catalyst material along a portion of a length of the reactor vessel;
- a second annular catalyst chamber in the inner space for guiding a flow of a second catalyst material along a portion of the length of the reactor vessel, the first annular catalyst chamber being concentrically positioned within the second annular catalyst chamber;
- a first annular collection chamber defined by and in fluid communication with the first annular catalyst chamber;
- a second annular collection chamber defined by and in fluid communication with the second annular catalyst chamber;
- and
- a feed line in fluid communication with a first inlet and a second inlet, the first inlet for directing a first portion of the feed stream into the first annular catalyst chamber and the second inlet for directing a second portion of the feed stream into the second annular catalyst chamber.
