Abstract
An absorbent article including a cover layer, a barrier layer and an absorbent layer arranged between the cover layer and the barrier layer, the absorbent article being drapeable and possessing the absorbency attributes required of a sanitary napkin.

An absorbent article comprising:
- a cover layer;
- a barrier layer;
- an absorbent system arranged between said cover layer and said barrier layer;
- wherein the absorbent article has a first portion and a second portion, said second portion having an MCB that is greater than an MCB of said first portion;
- wherein said absorbent article has a total thickness of less than 2.5 mm;
- and
- wherein at least part of said first portion satisfies one of the following equations:
- AI>3.3−1.2 ln(BW/MCB), where BW/MCB≦6.8;
- and
- AI>1, where BW/MCB>6.8.

- a body facing surface;
- a garment facing surface;
- wherein the absorbent article has a first portion and a second portion, said second portion having an MCB that is greater than an MCB of said first portion;
- wherein said absorbent article has a total thickness of less than 2.5 mm;

- AI>3.3−1.2 ln(BW/MCB), where BW/MCB≦6.8;
