Vehicular electronic system with crash sensors and occupant protection systems

An electronic system in a vehicle, comprising

• at least one electronic crash sensor system arranged to sense a crash involving the vehicle, each of said at least one electronic crash sensor system including a crash sensor housing mounted in a vehicle crush zone;
• at least one occupant protection system each including an occupant protection device arranged to protect an occupant in the event of a crash involving the vehicle;
• and
• at least one bus system, said at least one occupant protection system being connected to said at least one bus system and being supplied with power by said at least one bus system and communicating through said at least one bus system,
• said at least one crash sensor system being arranged to generate within said crash sensor housing crash signals indicative of a sensed crash condition and send the generated crash signals from said crash sensor housing over said at least one bus system,
• wherein said at least one occupant protection system is arranged to determine, after receipt of deployment signals by said at least one occupant protection system, whether to actuate said occupant protection device therein based on the deployment signals and if so, to actuate said occupant protection device therein.
