Abstract
The present invention relates to a portable, directional electrocrushing drilling apparatus and method.

A pulsed power apparatus for passing a pulsed electrical current through a substrate to drill the substrate, said apparatus comprising:
- a drill;
- a pulse generator;
- an electrode assembly comprising said at least one set of at least two electrodes disposed on said drill passing pulsed electrical current from said pulse generator through the substrate;
- and
- said at least one electrode set changeably directing drilling of said drill through the substrate.

A method for passing a pulsed electrical current through a substrate, said method comprising:
- providing a drill, an electrode assembly comprising at least one set of at least two electrodes, and a cable connected to a pulse generator;
- disposing at least one set of at least two electrodes on the drill;
- passing current from the pulse generator through the electrodes and through the substrate;
- and
- changeably directing drilling of the drill through the substrate using the at least one set of electrodes.
