Abstract
The present invention relates to a chemically modified polypeptide in which at least one of hydroxyl groups in the polypeptide molecule is modified with a polyalkylene glycol derivative; a method for producing the modified polypeptide; a method of treatment using the modified polypeptide; use of the modified polypeptide; a pharmaceutical preparation comprising the modified polypeptide; and a composition for treatment comprising the modified polypeptide.
Claims11
A method of treating a patient having reduced granulocytes or thrombocytes, which comprises administering to said patient an effective amount of a chemically modified polypeptide having a granulocyte colony-stimulating factor activity in which the hydroxyl group of at least one serine residue is modified with a polyalkylene glycol derivative, said polypeptide comprising a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOs:
- 1-13, said method resulting in an increase in the number of granulocytes or thrombocytes in said patient.
