Abstract
Location technologies are combined with other information systems to provide augmented information for individuals such as a traveler in an automobile.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- gathering travel time information pertaining to a route based on a plurality of cell phone locations measured through cell phone tower triangulation, wherein the travel time information is associated with at least one parameter relating to the travel time;
- estimating a typical travel time of the route based at least in part on the gathered travel time information;
- storing the typical travel time in a database;
- receiving a navigation request from a user;
- and
- presenting the route in response to the user request, wherein the presentation includes retrieving the typical travel time from the database and presenting the typical travel time of the route.
