Abstract
A polymer with a backbone having at least one structural unit represented by formula (I): Wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, and R5 independently denote one of a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkyl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group, and n preferably denotes an integer from 1 to 10.
Claims30
A composition comprising:
- an oxygen-scavenging polymer that includes a condensation backbone having at least one structural unit represented by formula (I):
- wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, and R5 independently denote one of a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkyl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group, and n denotes an integer from 1 to 10;
- and
- at least about 10 parts per million (ppm) by weight of an oxidation catalyst.

A packaging article, comprising:
- a layer of an oxygen-scavenging composition including:
- an oxygen-scavenging polymer comprising a condensation backbone having at least one pendant group represented by formula (I) attached to a carbon atom of the backbone:
- wherein, R1, R2, R3, R4, and R5 independently denote one of a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkyl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group, and n denotes an integer from 1 to 10;
- and
- at least about 10 parts per million (ppm) by weight of an oxidation catalyst.
