Abstract
A device for trussing up poultry parts, the poultry parts having first and second elongated bones with meat attached to the bones. The device includes carrier trays which receive the poultry part. The first and second bones are placed in first and second recesses of a meat stripping tool. A pusher device displaces the first and second bones through the recesses and at least some of the meat is compressed between the at least a part of the pusher device and at least a part of the stripping tool. At least one gripper retracts at least one of the first and second bones from the meat after the meat has been trussed up.

A device for processing poultry parts, the poultry parts comprising a first and a second elongated bone and meat attached thereto, the first and second elongated bone having opposite first and second ends, the device comprising a least one trussing up unit with at least one recess for receiving the first end part of the bone and a pusher device for displacing at least one of the first and second bone with respect to the meat in view of forming a meat product having the meat trussed up around the second end part of the bone, characterized in that the device comprises a plurality of consecutive trussing up units, each trussing up unit comprising a carrier tray for receiving a poultry part to be processed in longitudinal direction of the bones, each trussing up unit comprising
- at a first end part of the carrier tray, positioning means for receiving the first end part of at least one of the bones,
- a meat stripping tool with a first and a second recess through which respectively at least part of the first and second bone of the poultry part to be processed are displaceable,
- each trussing up unit being displaceable between a loading position for loading the carrier tray with a poultry part, and along a trussing up pathway for trussing up of the meat around the second end part of the first bone,
- in that the device comprises at a position downstream the loading position, a cutter for cutting an end part of the poultry part connecting the first and second bone in transverse direction, in that the trussing up unit comprises at a second end part of the carrier tray opposite the first end part a pusher device, the pusher device being provided for partly displacing the first and second bone through respectively the first and second recess in the stripping tool and through the meat after the end part has been cut from the bone, and for carrying out a pushing action to the meat in the longitudinal direction of the bones so as to compress the meat between at least part of the pusher device and the stripping tool, the carrier tray and pusher device being displaceable with respect to each other along the trussing up pathway, and in that the device comprises at least one gripper which is provided to snap one of the first and second bone after the first and second bone have been displaced through the stripping tool and protrudes therefrom and to retract one of the first and second bone from the meat.
