## Claims

### Claim 1

An isolated LL-37 peptide having the amino acid sequence FKRIVQRIKDFLRX1 (SEQ ID NO: 10), wherein X1 is selected from the group consisting of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 amino acids, and wherein at least one of the amino acids at position 4, 8, and 12 is a D-amino acid.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The isolated LL-37 peptide of claim 1, wherein X1 is selected from the group consisting of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 amino acids.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The isolated LL-37 peptide of claim 1, wherein X1 is the amino acid sequence NLV (SEQ ID NO: 11).

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The isolated LL-37 peptide of claim 1, wherein said peptide is SEQ ID NO: 7, wherein the isoleucine at position 4, the isoleucine at position 8, and the leucine at position 12 are D-amino acids.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The isolated LL-37 peptide of claim 1, wherein the amino acids of X1 are the corresponding amino acids of SEQ ID NO: 1.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The isolated LL-37 peptide of claim 1, wherein the isoleucine at position 4, the isoleucine at position 8, and the leucine at position 12 are D-amino acids.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The isolated LL-37 peptide of claim 1, wherein said LL-37 peptide comprises D-amino acids spaced by three consecutive L-amino acids.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

A pharmaceutical composition comprising at least one LL-37 peptide of claim 1 and at least one pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
