Abstract
A substantially tubular member comprises a body. The body is constructed from a first material and has an external surface. At least a portion of the external surface has a predetermined pattern of a second material deposited thereon. The predetermined pattern of the second material is deposited on the at least a portion of the external surface by one or more printing processes such as solution coating, spray coating, thermal printing, piezo jet printing, contact printing and any combination thereof.
Claims16
A medical balloon comprising:
- a body, the body constructed from a first material, the body having a surface, at least a portion of the surface having a second material deposited thereon, the second material comprising a nanocomposite material, the second material having a pattern including multiple discrete portions substantially aligned circumferentially, each discrete portion having a proximal and a distal end, at least one of the discrete portions having a proximal end that is distal to the distal end of another discrete portion.
A medical balloon comprising:
- a body, the body constructed from a first material, the body having a surface, at least a portion of the surface having a second material deposited thereon, the second material comprising a nanocomposite material, the second material being deposited on the at least a portion of the surface by solution coating the second material further comprises at least one thermoset composition, the at least one thermoset composition comprising liquid crystalline functionalities.
