Abstract
A polymer electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell includes a porous membrane formed with fine pores, hygroscopic polymer layers coated inside the fine pores of the porous membrane, and proton conductive polymers filled in the fine pores of the porous membrane coated with the hygroscopic polymer layers.
Claims25
A polymer electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell comprising:
- a porous membrane having a plurality of fine pores;
- a hygroscopic polymer layer coated inside each of the fine pores of the porous membrane;
- and
- a proton conductive polymer filled in each of the fine pores of the porous membrane coated with the hygroscopic polymer layer, wherein the hygroscopic polymer layers comprise a polymer material selected from the group consisting of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyethylene oxide (PEO), polypropylene oxide (PPO), polymethylene oxide (PMO), polyethylene oxide methacrylate, polyethylene oxide acrylate, polyethylene oxide dimethacrylate, polyethylene oxide diacrylate, polyhydroxyethylmethyl acrylate (PHEMA), and combinations thereof.
