Abstract
Interactive multi-view video presents new types of video capture systems, video formats, video compression algorithms, and services. Many video cameras are allocated to capture an event from various related locations and directions. The captured videos and any associated audio streams are captured in a video beam format which allows for the efficient and expedient search of the vast amount of data in real-time and allows the data to be stored for off-line access.
Claims18
A computer-readable storage medium having stored thereon a data structure, comprising:
- a set of data fields containing data representing video streams that were captured simultaneously of the same event or event space from different viewpoints;
- and
- a set of data fields representing a video index for searching and locating the selected ones of the set of data fields representing the video streams that were taken simultaneously of the same event or event space;
- wherein the video index comprises:
- a first data field layer comprising a timestamp field, a field representing an offset of the video index data, a high address pointer field, a flag indicating whether there is a transition to a high address pointer or not, and a field representing the number of cameras at that time instant;
- and
- a second data field layer corresponding to the first data layer comprising a camera ID field, a field representing a coding type of that frame, and a low-address pointer field.
