Pallet-ramp coupling apparatus and method

A method for securing an unloading ramp to a pallet, the method comprising:

• providing a pallet having a driving member secured thereto;
• providing a ramp having an engagement portion secured thereto;
• substantially pivoting the ramp with respect to the pallet to move the engagement portion into contact with the driving member, the driving member urging the engagement portion and ramp into alignment with the pallet;
• providing a fastener secured to the ramp;
• providing a receptacle secured to the pallet and sized to receive the fastener;
• inserting the fastener into the receptacle upon urging of the engagement portion by the driving member;
• and
• registering the ramp with respect to the pallet with the engagement portion positioned proximate the driving member;
• wherein registering the ramp with respect to the pallet comprises inserting a registration member into a registration receptacle to register the ramp longitudinally and laterally with respect to the pallet;
• and
• wherein the registration member is a downwardly extending tab secured to the ramp, and wherein the registration receptacle is an aperture secured to the pallet and sized to receive the tab.
