## Abstract

According to the invention, there is provided seed and plants of the corn variety designated I285411. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of the variety I285411, and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of variety I285411 with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. The invention further relates to corn seeds and plants produced by crossing plants of variety I285411 with plants of another variety, such as another inbred line. The invention further relates to the inbred and hybrid genetic complements of plants of variety I285411.

## Claims

### Claim 1

### Claim 2

A plant of corn variety I285411 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-8771).

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

A plant part of the plant of claim 2.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The plant part of claim 3, further defined as pollen, an ovule or a cell.

### Claim 5 (depends on 2)

A tissue culture of regenerable cells of the plant of claim 2.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The tissue culture of claim 5, wherein the regenerable cells are from embryos, meristematic cells, pollen, leaves, roots, root tips, anther, pistil, flower, seed, boll or stem.

### Claim 7 (depends on 5)

A corn plant regenerated from the tissue culture of claim 5, wherein the regenerated corn plant expresses all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of the corn variety I285411 (ATCC Accession No.PTA-8771).

### Claim 8 (depends on 2)

A method of producing corn seed, comprising crossing the plant of claim 2 with itself or a second corn plant.

### Claim 9 (depends on 2)

An F1 hybrid seed produced by crossing the plant of claim 2 with a second, distinct corn plant.

### Claim 10

A method of producing a plant of corn variety I285411 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-8771) comprising an added desired trait, the method comprising introducing a transgene conferring the desired trait into a plant of corn variety I285411.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

The method of claim 10, wherein the desired trait is selected from the group consisting of male sterility, herbicide tolerance, insect or pest resistance, disease resistance, modified fatty acid metabolism, modified carbohydrate metabolism and modified corn fiber characteristics.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The method of claim 11, wherein the desired trait is herbicide tolerance and the tolerance is conferred to an herbicide selected from the group consisting of glyphosate, sulfonylurea, imidazalinone, dicamba, glufosinate, phenoxy proprionic acid, cycloshexone, triazine, benzonitrile and broxynil.

### Claim 13 (depends on 10)

The method of claim 10, wherein the desired trait is insect resistance and the transgene encodes a Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) endotoxin.

### Claim 14 (depends on 10)

A plant produced by the method of claim 10, wherein the plant comprises the desired trait and otherwise comprises all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of corn variety I285411 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-8771) when grown in the same environmental conditions.

### Claim 15

A method of introducing a single locus conversion into corn variety I285411 comprising:
(a) crossing a plant of variety I285411 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-8771) with a second plant comprising a desired single locus to produce F1 progeny plants;
(b) selecting F1 progeny plants that have the single locus to produce selected F1 progeny plants;
(c) crossing the selected progeny plants with at least a first plant of variety I285411 to produce backcross progeny plants;
(d) selecting backcross progeny plants that have the single locus and physiological and morphological characteristics of corn variety I285411 to produce selected backcross progeny plants; and
(e) repeating steps (c) and (d) one or more times in succession to produce selected second or higher backcross progeny plants that comprise the single locus and otherwise comprise all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of corn variety I285411 when grown in the same environmental conditions.

### Claim 16 (depends on 15)

The method of claim 15, wherein the single locus confers a trait selected from the group consisting of male sterility; herbicide tolerance; insect or pest resistance; disease resistance; modified fatty acid metabolism; modified carbohydrate metabolism; and modified corn fiber characteristics.

### Claim 17 (depends on 16)

The method of claim 16, wherein the trait is tolerance to an herbicide selected from the group consisting of glyphosate, sulfonylurea, imidazalinone, dicamba, glufosinate, phenoxy proprionic acid, cycloshexone, triazine, benzonitrile and broxynil.

### Claim 18 (depends on 16)

The method of claim 16, wherein the trait is insect resistance and the insect resistance is conferred by a transgene encoding a Bacillus thuringiensis endotoxin.

### Claim 19

A plant of corn variety I285411 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-8771), further defined as comprising a single locus conversion.

### Claim 20

A method of producing an inbred corn plant derived from the corn variety I285411, the method comprising the steps of:
(a) preparing a progeny plant derived from corn variety I285411 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-8771) by crossing a plant of the corn variety I285411 with a corn plant of a second variety;
(b) crossing the progeny plant with itself or a second plant to produce a seed of a progeny plant of a subsequent generation;
