Abstract
An oscillator includes a first circuit that asynchronously generates an oscillating signal in response to a second circuit of the oscillator acknowledging each cycle of the oscillating signal.
Claims17
An oscillator comprising:
- a first circuit to asynchronously generate output signals collectively forming an oscillating signal;
- and
- a second circuit coupled to receive said output signals to generate an enable signal indicating acknowledgement of a transition state of said output signals during an oscillating cycle and temporarily disable said first circuit from changing said output signals to a new state.
A method comprising:
- in a first circuit, asynchronously generating output signals that collectively form an oscillating signal;
- and
- using a second circuit to receive the output signals and generate an enable signal indicating acknowledgement of a transition state of said output signals during an oscillating cycle and temporarily disable said first circuit from changing said ouput signals to a new state.
