Abstract
A process of contacting at least one isoparaffin and at least one C5 olefin in the presence of a catalyst composition under conversion conditions to provide for converting the at least one isoparaffin and the at least one C5 olefin is provided. The catalyst composition contains a heteropoly acid, zinc, and a support component.
Claims46
A process comprising contacting and at least one C5 olefin with a catalyst composition under conversion conditions in the presence of at least one isoparaffin to provide for:
- 1) converting said at least one C5 olefin by isomerization and oligomerization to an intermediate product comprising hydrocarbons having at least ten carbon atoms per molecule, and 2) cleaving at least a portion of said intermediate product to thereby form a product comprising hydrocarbons comprising from about 6 to about 9 carbon atoms per molecule;
- and further wherein said catalyst composition comprises a heteropoly acid, a zinc halide, and a support component.
